I found your posting on "Integrative Psychology: An Introduction" on Medscape, and am really looking forward to your next post on Chakras and the psychology of chakra meditation. Will it be on Medscape, and when will it be coming out?

I think a large part of the problem is fear of social comment/ostracism regarding the perceived faiure.
If one already thinks one is a failure, and there is negative comment from those in the environment,
it becomes that much more difficult to pull oneself out of the negative feelings/despair/depression.
Not to say that others' opinions matter that much, but they can certainly add to the way one
is looking at a situation.
One needs therefore to cultivate a positive frame of mind.
The question is, how to do that, when one is in despair in an unencouraging environment?
